Happy Valentines Day!!!!
I did a bit of googling last night
on the origin of Valentines Day...
Surprisingly no one is pretty sure
on how it started...
But seems like all of the versions have a similarity...
During one of the wars centuries ago,
the King only wanted single men as his soldiers...
Because of that,it ended up breaking marriges
and stoping people from getting married...
However,St Valentine still continue to marry couples secretly..
When the king found out,he was sent to prison...
During that time,he fell in love with
one of the jailer's daughter...
He wrote many letters to her..
In his last letter before he was killed,
he signed "From your Valentine"..
Forbidden love in that sense I guess...
So it became a celebration of love as St Valentine is
known as the St of Love...
And cupid,the symbol of Valentines Day,
is the son of Goddess Aphrodite,goddess of love...
Cool huh...
I'm sure you guys already know about that...
But hey,its still cool findings for me...
And from there,during Valentines Day,
it became a custom to give flowers,like roses,
and cards or notes to your other half...
And being a girl that grows up watching
chick flick and fairytales...
My all time fav is Cinderella...
And yes I'm a sucka about the
whole knight rescuing you on a white horse
and you gallop through the sunset....
And they live happily ever after...
Wake up and smell the roses,Jannah...
Happily ever after do not exist in the real world...
No knight is going to rescue me on a white horse...
Hahahaha....
That's enough dreaming for one day...
